Snowpack declines with dry week, now 78% of normal for Wind River Basin

The snowpack feeding in the Wind River Basin declined during the first full week of the new year, from a reported 84 percent of average on Jan. 3, to a measurement of 78 percent of normal today. The United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resource Conservation Service said the state’s average snow water equivilent this week is 80 percent of normal.
