Light Up Lander coming this Friday night

(Lander, Wyo.) – One of Lander’s favorite holiday events, Light Up Lander, will be held this Friday, November 30th, 5 p.m. at Lander Centennial Park, at 2nd & Main Streets

Light Up Lander is a family-friendly event with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and local groups to sing Christmas carols. According to the Lander Area Chamber of Commerce, the favorite part of the evening is when Santa arrives on a fire truck! Refreshments, including free hot cocoa, cookies and candy canes will be available along with hay rides, games and lots of prizes. Main Street between 2nd and 3rd will be closed to vehicle traffic for the celebration.

Those holiday revelers who bring a can of food will receive a raffle ticket for prizes including $400 Chamber Choice Certificates, four bicycles, one tricycle and one balance bike, one prize per family.  1 can = 1 ticket,  10 cans = 10 tickets. There is no Limit to the amount of cans you can bring. All Canned proceeds will go to the Christmas Food Baskets program and the Lander Care and Share Food Bank. The drawing starts at 6:15 p.m.

The bicycles are sponsored by and are currently on display at Central Bank & Trust, Meridian Trust Credit Union, Atlantic City Federal Credit Union, Wyoming National Bank and First Interstate Bank. The bicycles are provided by Gannet Peak Sports.
