Riverton City Council to hear audit report, decide on start date for new sewer line protection program

(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Riverton City Council Tuesday night will meet in a special session with just a few items on the agenda. Highlighting the agenda are three primary items. The council will hear the city’s fiscal year 2011-12 audit report, hear a presentation from the Central Wyoming Skateboarding Association and be asked to approve a marketing agreement from Utilities Service Partners on a new Sewer Lateral Protection Program. At the council’s last meeting, it was decided to abandon the current city-managed SLPP which is going deeper in the red, and go with a program offered by the National League of Cities. Approval of the marketing agreement and notice to current SLPP participants marks the initiation of the new program.

In a discussion item, the council will also review Chapter Six of the City’s Master Plan which deals with beautification. The council has been reviewing each chapter of the Master Plan during its work sessions.

The special meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Riverton City Hall. The meeting can also be viewed live on the city’s public access cable channel, channel 11.
