Lander City Council to move tomorrow on several items related to proposed arts and sciences center

(Lander, Wyo.) – The Lander City Council is holding a special meeting at 6 p.m. tomorrow night, Dec. 4 at Lander City Hall.

The meeting is set to start with a public hearing regarding a 2010 Business Ready Community Grant and Loan Program for the planning of the proposed arts and science center. The group is requesting the $25,000 grant from the Wyoming Business Council to help start a feasibility study.

Following the public hearing, a resolution to submit the grant application is on the agenda. A contract with former Lander Children’s Museum director Jennifer O’Connor is also scheduled. If approved, O’Connor would be hired as a consultant for facilitating the study.

Removing two existing ordinances and amending delinquent water bill charges are up for a second reading.

After the special meeting, a work session will be held. City Code 8-7-10 regarding the parking of large vehicles along streets will be discussed, Police Chief Jim Carey will give an update about no-biking signs along Main Street and cell phone use in city vehicles will be discussed.
