Details on 2-year-old Boy Hit By Vehicle Released
An accident report filled out by the Lander Police Department and Wyoming Highway Patrol was released today, giving the details on the 2-year-old boy that was hit by a vehicle last week in Lander.
According to the report, it was a Gold Dodge SUV belonging to Child Development Services that was involved in the accident on Wednesday April 18th at 10:20 a.m. The accident diagram and description shows the SUV reversed out of a parking space in the parking lot of the Teton Motel on the 500 block of Main Street. The SUV began to pull forward and exit the parking lot through the alley when the child entered the path of the vehicle from the left hand side. The child was struck by the front of the vehicle and rolled under. The 2-year-old was ran over by the passenger side rear tire and exited out the back of the vehicle. The female driver from Lander and the passenger say they did not see the child.
Lieutenant Chuck Carr with the Lander Police Department said charges will not be filed against the driver. The 2-year-old boy was life flighted to Salt Lake City and still remains in the hospital.
