Police Blotter: Riverton Man Arrested after vehicle pursuit, Riverton PD Searching for Assault Suspects

28 year old Douglas Lemley of Riverton was arrested Monday afternoon on May 21, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. after eluding deputies during a vehicle pursuit. Lemley was the subject of an earlier call Monday afternoon, when it was alleged he had assaulted a female in the 1500 block of East Monroe Avenue. Lemley was also wanted out of both Fremont and Natrona Counties on two separate warrants.

Lemley was later located driving a vehicle near West Main Street and College View Drive. Deputies attempted to detain Lemley, who refused to stop his vehicle. Lemley eluded the two Deputies at speeds under 45MPH. Lemley eventually stopped when he reached the top of Airport Hill; he was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported during the pursuit and no property was damaged. Lemley’s 23 year old male passenger was released from the incident without charges.

Lemley has been charged with Eluding Police, as well as Possession of Marijuana. Lemley was wanted out of Natrona County for Felony Strangulation of a Household Member, and Fremont County for Contempt of Court, Non-Payment of Child Support. The alleged assault on East Monroe is still under investigation.

Riverton Police Department

A baby was turned over to Northern Arapaho Family Services just before 8 a.m. on Monday when officers responded to a call for a simple assault at the College Hill Apartments. The call was for a female that had a bloody nose. Upon arrival, the officer found the female, along with seven other individuals that were highly intoxicated, some having BAC’s of up to .39. The female was intoxicated as well and couldn’t recall how she got the bloody nose, so she was taken to the hospital and treated for it. The officer contacted Northern Arapaho Family Services and they turned the baby over to the baby’s grandmother. No one was arrested or cited during this call.


Clinton Summerfield, 47 year old male from Tucson Arizona, Arrested for Public intoxication and Disturbing the Peace

Anderson Antelope, 29 year old male from Riverton, Arrested for Public Intoxication

Sistenes Tafoya, 26 year old male from Riverton, was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, DWUI and Resisting Arrest. A Female had her vehicle parked at the Red Eagle and went inside to purchase some items,  Sistenes Tafoya and Anderson Antelope allegedly stole the vehicle while the owner was inside.   Tafoya and Antelope were apprehended a couple blocks away. The vehicle was returned to the owner.


A fight was reported at the Boot Bar Monday night. A male was at the Boot Bar when he observed another male hitting his girlfriend and tried to intervene and was attacked by the boyfriend and three to four of his male friends. Officers with the Riverton Police Department are attempting to find the unknown males who assaulted the victim.  Please call Captain Eric Murphy at the PD if you have any information, 856-4891.  They have no further information on the assailants.


One report of child neglect was made but no other information was available as the report is pending.


Lander Police Department

A Lander man was cited for Larceny, according to Chief Jim Carey, 33-year-old Cory Marburger pawned a diamond wedding ring that had a retail value of $900. Detectives are still investigating how Marburger obtained the ring but it has been recovered and will be returned to the owner.
