Central’s Men and Women defeat Dawson College Saturday in Riverton

(Riverton, Wyo.) – It was Hot Dogs and Hoops night at Central Wyoming College’s Rustlers Gym on Saturday and the home teams came away with two victories.

The Central Men started off slow on Saturday night but got it rolling right before halftime taking a 39-29 halftime lead that they expanded for a 79 to 52 victory. The Rustlers (16-4) were led by Tanner Newbold’s (14 points) and Davion Pearson’s (18 points and 4 assists).

Lady Rustlers Defense Stymies Dawson

The Lady Rustlers and the Wyoming Cowboys had something in common on Saturday night as both teams held their opponents to only 9 points at halftime. The Lady Rustler’s defense stymied Dawson for the entire game. The Lady Rustlers took a 24-9 halftime lead and never looked back beating Dawson 44-29. The Lady Rustlers were led by Stephanie Smith’s (6 points and 10 rebounds).
