David D. Washakie sentenced to Federal prison on assault charge; Restitution ordered

DOJ logo(Cheyenne, Wyo.) – A 32-year-old Fort Washakie man was sentenced Friday in U. S. District Court to 3.8 years (46 months) in prison on his conviction of Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury. Federal District Court Judge Clarence A. Brimmer  also ordered David Dewey Washakie to serve two years of supervised probation following his release, and he was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $8,688.50 and a $100 special assessment.

The charge stemmed from an assault that occurred on November 7, 2012, on the Wind River Reservation. The case was investigated by the FBI with the assistance of the BIA Wind River Police, according to Christopher A. Crofts, the U. S. Attorney for the District of Wyoming.
