Farm and Ranch Days draws big crowd to Fairgrounds Wednesday morning

(Riverton, Wyo.) – Fremont County Farm and Ranch Days got off to a roaring start this morning at the Fremont County Fairground’s Fremont Center with a full house of agriculture vendors and local ranchers and growers on hand.
Early programs on Wednesday included such topics as how Obama Care will effect farm and ranch operations and taxes, Winter Feeding Considerations, and presentations on Drought Management, the Costs of Wolves on Livestock Producers and Raising Poultry, small and large scale. The latter topic drawing considerable interest since the City of Riverton recently approved allowing chickens to be raised in the city limits.
Today’s noon lunch speaker is Master Distiller Steve Nalley, from Wyoming Whiskey at Kirby, in Hot Springs County.
Afternoon sessions today include Women in Agriculture, Larkspur control, GPS driven Farm and Ranch Equipment and Crop Strategies, among others.
The workshops continue t through 4 p.m. today, and start up again on Thursday at 9 a.m.
