(Riverton, Wyo.) – A Search and Rescue mission has been launched for an overdue 32-year-old Riverton man.

According to a news release from the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, the man was reported to sight-seeing in east Fremont County and did not return at 4:30 p.m. when he was expected. The report of his missing came into authorities at 9:42 p.m. The sheriff’s call log states the reporting party did not know exactly where the man was headed but said he was going to pan for gold.

The man was reportedly driving a white 2011 or 2012 Chevrolet four-door pick-up.

Undersheriff Ryan Lee said weather is hampering search efforts, keeping air assets from leaving the ground. The exact search area has not been released.
