(Lander, Wyo.) – Wednesday’s law enforcement roundup from across Fremont County:
Fremont County Fire Protection District
Fremont County Fire Protection District Battalions from Midvale and Missouri Valley responded Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. to the scene of a controlled burn that the wind whipped out of control on the old Cloyd Locker place just south of Highway 134 between Tunnel Hill and Eight Mile Roads. Heath Hill, who is renting the property, told County10.com news at the scene that he was burning some weeds along a fence line that had accumulated in the recent wind events and that the fire raced out of control and into a trash pile when the wind suddenly came up. Hill said he was thankful that he had recently cleared a driveway of weeds otherwise the fire might’ve spread into a nearby shelter belt of trees. As it was, the trash pile of weeds, old equipment, tires and such created a huge plume of thick black smoke. No structures were involved.
