WAM Convention continues today in Riverton with workshops, workshops and workshops
(Riverton, Wyo.) – The general session of the Wyoming Association of Municipalities annual conference is on tap this morning at the James. H. Moore Career Center in Riverton. On Thursday, there was a golf tournament, tours of the area for participants and their spouses and significant others and, for the WAM Clerks and Treasurers, a day of training at Riverton City Hall. That training resumes today.
The morning session for the WAM participants is a motivational leadership program, followed by a day of workshops on topics such as environmental consulting, time management, benchmarking water and sewer rates, serving the underserved in municipalities such as youth, and managing employee behavoir, among others.
At Thursday’s opening WAMCAT session, the Audit Manager at McKee, Marburger and Fagnant CPAs of Lander presented a program on Preparing a Meaningful MD&A. Other topics included Process Management, Analyzing Utility Rates and the Futures Game. Today, the clerks, treasurers and fiscal officers will have workshops on Human Resource Management and a program on the Public’s Right to Know an Participate, an in-depth review of the constitutonal right of the public to observe, know and participate in the workings of their municipal governments.
