Coroner said preliminary autopsy results indicated Crichton died of a “probable cardiac event”

(Riverton, Wyo.) – The death of 55-year-old Dajuana Crichton of rural Riverton “was a probable cardiac event,” Deputy Fremont County Coroner Mark Stratmoen reported Thursday afternoon.”There was no indication of drowning.” That was the preliminary result of an autopsy performed earlier Thursday in Loveland, Colo. “We’ll have to wait for a full autopsy report to confirm it, but that is the preliminary finding,” he said.

Crichton was found unconscious and in an irrigation ditch on Wednesday afternoon around 1 p.m. Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead at Riverton Memorial Hospital a short time later.

A well known and liked county resident, Crichton was active in many groups and organizations, including the Friends of the Fremont County Fair where she donated countless hours of volunteer work. She and her husband Kenny raised swine on their Buckhorn Flats farm. Crichton was also the coordinator of the Kinnear Bountiful Baskets site.
