Riverton School Board has land acquisition on its Tuesday agenda
(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Trustees of Fremont County School District #25 in Riverton will have an executive session Tuesday night to consider a land acquisition issue. The district has been negotiating for a parcel of Land on West Monroe for a new elementary school.
In open session Tuesday night, the trustees will also consider these agenda items:
• A request from the Riverton High School Key Club for eight or nine of its members to attend a Key Leaders Conference in Aspen, Colo., on October 18-20. The club is asking for two district Suburbans and $230 for the club sponsors. The estimated $175 cost per student will be split three ways between each student, the Key Club and the Kiwanis Club.
• An early graduation request from Brendan McAuliffe will be considered. He is seeking graduation after the fall semester.
• Also to be considered is the resignation of RHS Diving Coach Christen S. Boyle, who is relocating to Casper.
• Trustees will be asked to accept a $500 grant for Jackson Elementary from the Active Schools Acceleration Project. The grant would fund at least 15 minutes of quality physical activity at the school in combination with physical education, recess and classroom activity breaks. The program is meant to help reduce the trend of childhood obesity.
The meeting is open to the public. It starts at 7 p.m. at the Central Office Board Room, 121 North 5th West.
