Lander Elks Lodge taking applications for disabled veterans deer hunting trip

(Lander, Wyo.) – The Lander Elks Lodge BPOE #2317 wants to take four disabled veterans deer hunting this fall. This is the first year the Elks have offered such a program, and they are looking to take one veteran each from World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, and one from Desert Storm on.

“We’re covering everything,” organizer Richard Gould said. The Elks Lodge will pay for the veterans’ licenses, transportation, logistics of the hunt, meat processing and a dinner after the hunt. Gould said the Elks have secured private property access for the veterans.

Any Fremont County disabled veterans are encouraged to apply. To learn more about how to apply, call Gould at 349-4163 or 857-2290, or reach Ed Ransford at 438-1878 or 332-2663. The deadline to apply is August 15.
