session), and Thursday, April 24 at 9:00 a.m. (business meeting). Both events will be held at Fremont County School District #25’s Administration Office Boardroom, 121 North 5th Street.
At Tuesday night’s Riverton School Board meeting, Superintendent Terry Snyder said he invited the commission to have a meeting here so they could see how the funds they approved for the district are being used.
“They make so many decision and they never see what their dollars did, so we’ve scheduled a tour for them Wednesday morning to show them the safety vestibules we’ve installed at Rendezvous and Jackson schools, and our two component projects at bus barn and at Riverton High School,” he said. “We’ll also talk to them about desired projects including an auditorium and a multi-purpose/wrestling room area at the high school and we’ll go over to Tonkin and show them our alternative school idea.”
Snyder said he also plans to show the Commission the district’s 1940 era building and grounds maintenance facility and take them to the site of the new elementary school on West Monroe. “I especially want them to see the new school site so they can see the necessity of an egress road.” The district has proposed extending West Monroe past the new school to connect with an extension of Major Avenue to give the school two ingress and egress streets.
“This is our chance to meet them and thank them,” Snyder said.
