3 paint projects to tackle this weekend!

(Lander, Wyo.) – It’s amazing what a coat of paint can do. It can revive an old piece of furniture, completely change the feel of a room, or make a kitchen look brand new.

Here are three “do it yourself” projects you can do this weekend with a few cans of paint.

Number One: This is by far my new favorite trend: Dipped Furniture

There are so many ways you can have fun with this like herehere and here. All you need is something to paint!

If you’re like me then you probably have a piece of furniture that has never really fit in your home. You like the piece, but don’t love it. Here’s a step-by-step tutorial to make it one of your favorite pieces in your home!

Easier version: Don’t have time for a big project? Try this one!

Number Two: DIY Rustic Growth Chart

What a great gift idea! I could see grand kiddos giving this to grandma for Mother’s Day! All you need a 6? X 1? X 5 ” piece of lumber, Minwax dark walnut stain, white paint, painters tape, an X-Acto knife, chevron stencil (optional), and an electric sander for the distressed look. Click here for the full tutorial!

Easier version: If the chevron pattern looks a bit complex for you, or if you simply don’t like it, try the second one!

Number Three: Add a coat of paint to your kitchen cabinets and you’ll feel like you’re in a new house!
