Lander Mayor makes Arbor Day and National Kids to Parks Day proclamations
(Lander, Wyo.) – Lander Mayor Mick Wolfe made two proclamations at last night’s city council meeting, one for Arbor Day and one for National Kids to Parks Day.
Wolfe proclaimed that this week would be called Lander’s Arbor Day Celebration Week. This is the 24th year in a row that Lander has been designated a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation. In celebration of Lander’s urban forest, free seedling trees are available for residents to pick up at Lander City Hall or at the Parks and Recreation Office at City Park.
Additionally, Wolfe Proclaimed that Saturday, May 17 would be National Kids to Parks Day in Lander. The proclamation is part of a national initiative urging children and families spend time outdoors.
