Fifth-graders and Popo Agie Conservation District join forces to raise awareness of river pollution

(Lander, Wyo.) – If you saw a bunch elementary students wandering Lander’s Main Street this morning in yellow vests, they were out performing a community service.

In partnership with the Popo Agie Conservation District, a class of Baldwin Creek Elementary fifth-graders were out today putting new ‘no dumping’ stickers above the storm drains. The drains lead straight to the Middle Fork of the Popo Agie River and is not treated before it gets there. The students and PACD were wanting to make sure people understand that debris in the storm drains ends up in the river.
