Police Blotter: Arrests; Driving death under investigation; Dogs found eating antelope
(Fremont County, Wyo.) – Here is the Friday recap of law enforcement activity around the county. All those arrested or cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
Fremont County Sheriff’s Office
Maurice Bell, 30, Riverton, Probation Revocation.
Gavin Dewey, 22, Aburnway, Wash., Intoxicated Pedestrian on Roadway and Interference with Police.
At 8:53 a.m. on Thursday, deputies were called to Lower North Fork Road for a report of a gun found on the road.
“A 73-year-old Riverton woman was found deceased Thursday afternoon in the 700 block of 17 Mile Road inside her vehicle,” Undersheriff Ryan Lee reports. “Witnesses reported she had just left a residence and was driving east on 17 Mile Road, when her vehicle went into the borrow ditch and stopped against the fence. The woman was found unresponsive; attempts to revive her were unsuccessful.” The case has been forwarded to the County Coroner’s Office for the determination of the cause and manner of death.
A theft in the Lander area is under investigation. Additional information was not released.
At 5:03 p.m., a woman on Hillcrest Drive in Lander reported that two dogs killed six of her chickens.
At 6:06 p.m., a woman on Beebe Road near Lander reported that dogs were eating a dead antelope.
At 8:20 p.m., a caller on Hutchinson Road near Riverton that she witnessed a child wreck a four-wheeler and another male then reportedly hit child. Deputies determined the call was a misunderstanding. There was no injury and no damage from the incident.

At 8:47 a.m. on Thursday, police were notified that a female driver who had gone through the drive-through at McDonald’s was possible intoxicated. The caller said the woman fell asleep in the drive-through and kept driving around the parking lot. No arrests or citations were by LPD in connection to this call.
A woman on Wood Street reported a potentially fraudulent call regarding Social Security issues.
A woman reported that her car was scratched while parted at a school picking up her children on Thursday afternoon. The caller thought she might know who did it.
At 4:57 p.m., police were called to a business on Shrine Club Road for a report of a large snake in the waiting room.
At 6:13 p.m., a woman on Garfield Street reported that her husband’s cell phone was getting prank text messages.
Police were called to an address on Jefferson Street for a report of a male subject walking around a building with a flashlight.
