CWC Trustee Roger Gose won’t seek re-election; Four seats opening up this year

(Riverton, Wyo.) – Four Central Wyoming College Trustee seats are up for grabs in this fall’s election, and at least one current trustee will not seek re-election.

Trustee Roger Gose, having served eight years on the board, will not be returning to the ballot. He made his announcement at last night’s CWC Board meeting, Public Information Officer Carolyn Aanestad said.

Additionally, Trustee Nicole Schoening, who was appointed in February 2013 to fill the seat vacated by Judy Pedersen, will seek re-election. Seeking a full term on the board through election was one thing she promised when she was appointed.

Both of those seats are for the Riverton-Shoshoni subdistricts.

Board Chairman Charlie Krebs of the Lander subdistrict told the board that he was not yet sure if he would seek election. Scott Phister’s seat, also of the Riverton-Shoshoni subdistrict, was not present to announce his intentions. Krebs put the pair’s announcements on the July board meeting agenda.

Filing for these seats will open on Aug. 7 and close Aug. 25. The vote will be held during the Nov. 4 general election.
