Preteen on bike collides with motorcycle north of Lander

(Lander, Wyo.) – A 12-year-old Lander girl was struck by a motorcycle on North Second Street Sunday evening. She and another 12 year old Lander girl were riding their bicycles on Meadowlark Lane and had approached the intersection of North Second Street.

One of the girls stopped at the intersection; however the second did not and drove out in to on-coming traffic. The girl was struck by an on-coming 1982 Yamaha motorcycle, operated by a 26-year-old Lander man.

Both subjects were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. At this point in the investigation it does not appear the motorcycle driver was exceeding the speed limit, or violating any other traffic laws.
