Man charged after breaking into girlfriend’s second story apartment using a “chair ladder”
(Riverton, Wyo.) – A 22-year-old Riverton man has been jailed and charged with False Imprisonment, Interference and Breach of the Peace following an incident early Wednesday morning. The charges were lodged against Aaron Oldman.
A neighbor in the 700 block of Eagle Drive called Riverton Police just after 2 a.m. to report someone trying to enter an upstairs apartment. Oldman allegedly had stacked a number of chairs on top of one another to gain access to the second story balcony. The woman told police she went outside to have a smoke and discovered the chair ladder. She told police she thought someone was being kidnapped so she called 911.
A Riverton Police Report indicated that when officers arrived, they heard a 22-year-old female crying from inside the apartment and yelling for the man to get off of her.
Police knocked on the door and announced their presence, entered the apartment and Oldman allegedly then became violent with the officers, according to the RPD report.
Oldman is charged with breaking into his girlfriend’s apartment, holding his girlfriend against her wishes and fighting officers. His blood alcohol level was just under the legal limit, at .066 percent. The legal limit is .08 percent. The woman was not injured.
