Thiesse enters ‘not guilty’ pleas in court this morning

(Lander, Wyo.) – Former Lander Pioneer Museum Director Carol Thiesse pleaded not guilty this morning in Wyoming’s Ninth District Court. Judge Marvin Tyler presided via video conference.

Thiesse is charged with Larceny by Bailee and Intellectual Property Destruction. Both are felony charges, and if convicted of both she would face a maximum of 13 years in prison and/or $13,000 in fines. It is alleged that she stole and/or destroyed nearly $30,000 in Fremont County Museum property. She is currently out on bond, and no changes were made to bond conditions this morning.

Her trial, should it get to that point, will likely be held in November. It was said in open court today that no plea agreements have been reached at this time.
