Friday Night Cruise brings huge crowd to downtown Riverton; Events last into the night
(Riverton, Wyo.) – One of the largest Friday Night Cruise events since it began is happening in downtown Riverton Friday evening, and into the night. Six blocks of downtown are closed off, scores of classic and soon to be classic autos, trucks and motorcycles are on display, three bands are playing and food vendors are serving up burgers, hot dogs, pizza, shaved ice and cold drinks, to mention a few.
Saturday, most of these cars, trucks and bikes will be on display at Central Wyoming College for the annual Rocky Mountain Rebels Car and Bike Show that kicks off at 11 through 4 p.m.
The 24+ balloons in the Riverton Rendezvous Hot Air Balloon Rally are slated for launch after sunrise, both Saturday and Sunday, depending on the morning winds, after 6 a.m. Free tethered rides will be given on the infield after the launch and the Kiwanis Club will be on hand serving breakfast starting at 6 a.m. both days.
The PAWS For Life Red Neck BBQ and Rugrat Carnival is at the college from 10 to 4.
Saturday night, the balloon glow is set for 8 p.m., weather allowing, and at 10 the big Rendezvous Fireworks Show will light up the skies from the top of Griffey Hill.
