Police Blotter: Arrests; Burglaries reported; LPD called on snakes and fights
(Fremont County, Wyo.) – Here is Wednesday’s recap of law enforcement activity around the county. All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.
Fremont County Sheriff’s Office
Andrew Scott Davey, 29, Lander, Court Ordered Arrest.
David Wayne Brock, 22, Riverton, Big County Warrant and Failure to Pay Fines. Brock is also a person of interest in a recent abduction of a 9-year-old girl.
Daniel Earl Spencer, 24, Powell, Failure to Appear Warrant.
Ryan Donald Slack, 36, Riverton, Revocation of Release.
At 7:48 a.m., deputies assisted the Lander Police with a report of a vicious dog on the 1800 block of Hillcrest Drive.
At 11:05 a.m., a caller in the Riverton area reported that someone in another vehicle threw a bottle at his vehicle.
At 2:20 p.m., deputies were called to the 1300 block of Holly Road near Riverton by a woman who said someone broke into her house while she was at work. Nothing was taken, and there are no suspects at this time.
At 10:23 p.m., a woman on Prairie Breeze Road said she returned home to find the doors to her house wide open and her cat locked in a bedroom. The house had not been left that way that morning. The report was documented.
Fremont County Coroner
Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Stratmoen reported Wednesday that an autopsy on the body of 44-year-old Larry Duran of Lander was inconclusive. Stratmoen said the manner and cause of Duran’s death will be determined after further laboratory testing and toxicology results are received, in some 4 to 6 weeks. Duran was found dead in his Lander home this past weekend.
Lander Police Department
At 9:08 a.m., police were called to Adams Street for a report a landlord who towed the former tenant’s car after he was evicted.
At 11:05 a.m., a caller on Baldwin Drive reported that someone claiming to be from the IRS called and said the Sheriff’s Office was coming to arrest them. The caller thought it was possibly fraudulent.
At 1:51 p.m., police were called to the area of Dillon Drive and Valley View for a report of two young children riding their bikes in the road.
At 2:05 p.m., police were called back to Dillon Drive by someone you could hear a lot of yelling and door slamming between a man and woman.
At 6:58 p.m., a caller on Baldwin Creek Road reported that their vehicle rolled into a statue. Additional information will be reported when it comes available.
People in the area of Wyoming and Second Street were shooting off fireworks on the corner at about 10:10 p.m.
A caller on Caring Way called police at 11:51 p.m. asking for help in removing a snake that the caller had captured.
Riverton Police Department
Call information from RPD was not available this morning as all administration was out of the office. Call details from Tuesday should be available tomorrow.
