Lander City Council to tackle new dispatch agreement tonight
(Lander, Wyo.) – The Lander City Council is expected to take a vote on the new dispatch agreement with the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office this evening. The new agreement would require the city to pay $141,350 this year, which represents 50 percent of the cost what Lander share of the dispatch call volumes.
This agreement marks a change from the current agreement, in which a flat fee was paid. The Sheriff’s Office is now requiring agencies that it provides services for to pay for their share of the call volume, turning the dispatch budget into a true enterprise fund. The amount Lander would have to pay is set to increase to 75 percent of its share next year and 100 percent on the third year.
The city council meeting starts at 6 p.m. tonight at Lander City Hall. View the complete agenda below. After the regular meeting, Fire Administrator Nick Hudson will introduce the council to the new ladder truck.
