Woman fractures man’s skull with glass ash tray in alleged unprovoked attack

(Riverton, Wyo.) – Police are attempting to locate a 33-year-old female from Riverton who fractured the skull of a man Thursday evening at a home in the 200 block of South 12th East. The weapon used in the attack was a glass ashtray.

According to a police report, officers arrived at the home to find a man with a bandage on his head and a gash on his skull down to the bone. The report said the man had a three inch gash above his left eye. After taken to SageWest-Riverton’s Emergency Room, doctors reported the man’s skull was fractured after a CT scan was completed.

Statements from witnesses at the home said a party was underway and that people were clustered in groups having conversations when the suspect jumped up, grabbed the ash tray and cracked the 58-year-old Pavillion resident on the head with it. She then ran out of the house without telling anyone where she was going.

The victim said the woman had accused him of allegedly taking prescription medicines from an elderly woman whom they both knew. He denied the accusation.

The officer collected the broken ash tray as evidence. He reported the pieces of the glass object were scattered around the floor.

The suspect is facing charges of aggravated assault and battery.
