Poets celebrate Riverton’s founding 108 years ago at Museum event
(Riverton, Wyo.) – The 108th anniversary of the City of Riverton’s founding was celebrated Saturday with poetry, showing of the city’s Centennial Movie, cake and soft drinks, plus tours of the Riverton Museum, host of the event.
Some 40 residents gathered on the east lawn under the shade of the museum’s large trees to hear Poetry Readings from Wyoming’s Poet Laureate Echo Klaproth, Cowboy Poet Dr. Kent Stockton and readings from Carol Deering.
The birthday cake was a half and half treat, half chocolate and half white cake with a strawberry filling served up by the museum’s Visitor Services Coordinator Dr. Jackson Crawford and members of the Museum Association.
Happy Birthday Riverton!
