Governor’s Capitol Art Exhibition calls for entries

(Cheyenne, Wyo.) – The call for entries for the 14TH Governor’s Capitol Art Exhibition is now available via the Wyoming Arts Council’s CaFE website, The deadline for entry is September 7.

Artists may enter up to three pieces of artwork to be considered for the show and there is no fee for entering the competition.

The Governor’s Capitol Art Exhibition was established in 2000 to create a dedicated collection of original Wyoming regional art for display in state offices. Works receiving purchase awards join this growing collection of prestigious art.

This year’s juror is Indiana artist Douglas David, a graduate of the Indiana University Herron School of Art. He studied principles of classic painting with the New York Art Students League, as well as such noted painters as John P. Osborne and John C. Traynor.

The Governor’s Capitol Art Exhibition will open January 5, with a reception on February 12.
