Paving activities nearly complete south of Riverton; highway striping scheduled to begin Wednesday
(Riverton, Wyo.) – Highway striping is scheduled to begin Wednesday on the Riverton South project, south of Riverton on Wyoming 789.
Prime contractor LeGrand Johnson Construction Co., is scheduled to complete asphalt paving activities south of Riverton on Tuesday afternoon, according to Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Robert Scheidemantel of Riverton.
“WYDOT striping crews are scheduled to be working south of Riverton beginning Wednesday. Please mind the construction zone speed limits while this work is happening. Please slow down and respect the workers and striping effort,” Scheidemantel said.
Highway and bridge improvements are nearly complete, with the exception of seeding and reclamation on the 3.32-mile highway and bridge improvement project directly south of Riverton on Wyoming 789. Construction of the five-lane highway and widening of the Little Wind Bridge carries an Oct. 31 contract deadline, with the chip sealing and seeding contract deadline being June 30, 2016.
Prime contractor of the $11.04 million project is LeGrand Johnson Construction Co., of Logan, Utah.
When the Riverton South project is complete, a new five-lane roadway will stretch from the Big Wind River bridge on Riverton’s south edge to south of Wind River Casino on Wyoming 789, a distance of just over three miles.
