Ellen Kenyon, 75, of Shoshoni died on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, in Rock Springs after a long illness. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time.
Ellen Mary Doughty was born on July 27, 1940 in Riverton to John and Mary (Tressler) Doughty. She grew up in Hudson and Shoshoni with her sisters, Sharon and Carol and her brothers, John, Homer, and David. She graduated from Shoshoni High School in 1958.
Ellen married and had three children from that union before divorcing. On March 19, 1978 she married the love of her life, Albert “Al” Kenyon, III in Shoshoni. With that marriage she gained three children and took them in as if they were her own, she never looked at them as “step”. She loved her family as it grew to include the “in laws” and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ellen enjoyed cooking, baking and collecting dolls. Above all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She held a special place in her heart for “all” of her family whether it be children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, or friends that called her “Mom”.
She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Al Kenyon; her sons, Monte Forster and his wife, Punky, Mike Forster and his wife, Sarah, and Albert Kenyon IV; her daughters, Debbie McMurtrey and her companion, Jack Mecham, and Debbie Smith and her companion, Bill Gelatic; her daughter-in-law, Mellissa Kenyon; her brothers, John Doughty, Homer Doughty, and David Doughty; her sisters, Carol Zahn and Sharron Sinner; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Doughty and her son, Mike Kenyon.
