(Ethete, Wyo.) – Led by Alex Trosper’s 12 points, the Wyoming Indian Lady Chiefs moved their record to 7-3 with a 46-40 win over the Class 3A Cody Fillies Saturday night.

Trailing 22-19 at half-time, Coach Aleta Moss’ Lady Chiefs outscored Cody 27-18 the rest of the way to secure the win. With the loss, the Fillies dropped to 3-4 on the season.

The first half of the game was a slow-down, take your time contest orchestrated by Cody, but the Lady Chiefs’ pressing defense and upbeat offense in the second half forced numerous Cody turnovers and Wyoming Indian took control with Denaria Hiwalkers’s and Trosper’s 8 second half points each leading the way. Following Trosper’s 12 points was 9 from Teanna Trosper and 8 from Hiwalker.

The Fillies’ Erika Larsen was the game’s high scorer with 18, most from inside the paint.

The Lady Chiefs’ win resulted in a sweep over the upper division Fillies after the Chiefs completed a 62-60 win in theĀ  nitecap.
