(RIVERTON, WYO.) – This Saturday, members of the community and the Riverton FFA have begun the process of organizing and packing the donated items in preparation for the haul to Texas on Friday, October 6. All donated items will be delivered to Houston Red Cross shelters or other donation sites.

Since August, Taylor Haley and the Riverton FFA have been working to organize a literal hurricane relief drive for victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas. So far, the FFA has accumulated a significant amount of donated items such as clothes, bedding, cleaning supplies, appliances, farm and ranching supplies, and some consumable items. The FFA has received donations from many individuals around the county and several local businesses.

Haley told County 10 that the trailer to be used for transporting the donated items is currently parked outside of Riverton City Hall and will be loaded on Wednesday, October 4 in preparation for the long haul to Texas. The semi-trailer was donated by a parent that is also providing a driver, fuel for the trip, and a truck to haul the trailer to make the relief drive possible.
